Five Things on a Friday-2/25/22

I opened the first one up, the whole time thinking how ridiculous it was that I was using one sharp object (scissors) to try to get at another sharp object (the knife), all while creating a third sharp object (the sharp edges of the plastic).

We actually made these quite a while ago, so no pictures of the process!You can see that the construction is pretty simple from the back though.

I painted the front to make them look weathered using a bunch of different random paints that I had on hand at the time..I combined the two elements to make one big farmhousy piece of art for the wall!.….I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean so don’t ask.

Kennedy helped me decide on the placement of the stars by holding them up while I stood back.Then, when I thought I knew which option I had decided on, she told me that I was wrong and insisted that I put them up her way.

So there you have it!These projects can be as simple or as complicated as you make them.

Be realistic with yourself about what your skills are and how comfortable you are with the project and don’t bite off (much) more than you can chew.These projects have a way of dragging on for months or even years if you make them something you dread.

This should be fun!And while we’re talking about that, tools make all the difference.
